Text Marketing Increases Customers and Followers for Businesses and Groups

A new service called MessageShout.com, allows businesses to use text marketing to attract new customers and followers. The text marketing service lets business owners send coupons, specials, discounts, alerts, or just about anything that the business or group wants to convey by mobile text message. Businesses and groups across the United States are using text marketing to increase their customer base and followers with outstanding results.

Just as American Idol used text message technology to involve the audience to participate in the voting process of contestants, small and medium size businesses can use this same kind of technology which was once out of reach until now. Text marketing is very cost effective now and with mobile phones outweighing personal computers 4 to 1, text marketing will increase dramatically within the next 5 years. Cell phone users read text messages within 15 minutes of receiving them. Mobile texts have an open rate of over 90% and when used as a mobile coupon, they have a response rate of over 30%! This is can be a game changer for most struggling businesses who are getting a 3%-5% response rate with paper coupons.

Message Shout uses true SMS Messaging short code technology to ensure that your message gets through and in front of your customers eyes. Some of their services include mobile voting, autoresponder text messaging, online sign up pages, appointment text reminders, message tracking, automatic text responses and roll over text credits.

Message Shout also can provide you with email marketing, instant messaging marketing and the ability to send your messages to the top social networks. Message Shout's mobile marketing director Matthew Hart states, 'We expect to have MMS capabilities before the end of the year which is the ability to send pictures along with text messages. We are very excited and expect this new update to increase our customers' mobile response rates even further. We believe our text marketing services can benefit any business or group.'

Message Shout's short code currently works in the U.S. only, but their email, instant message and social publishing services work anywhere in the world. Plans start as low as only $10 per month and they have a 15 day trial period. For the month of September, you can use code 'ed100' to receive an additional 50 text credits during the trial period. .

Message Shout is a text marketing service that also utilizes email, instant messaging, and social publishing to help businesses and groups of all kinds attract and market to customers and followers. You can find out more information by going to their website at http://www.MessageShout.com and signing up for a free trial account.

Telecommunication Properties, Inc. “TPI” wins Dallas Transit Authority Deal

WSJ WIRE –Thursday September 2, 2010

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Dallas, TX, September 2, 2010—Telecommunications Properties Inc. (TPI), an industry leader in the operations and management of Distributed Antenna Systems 'DAS' announced today that it had executed a contract with the Dallas Area Rapid Transit Authority (DART). Jimmy Chiles, President of Telecommunication Properties, Inc. said 'the multi-year contract includes design, installation and operations of a 700, 800 and 900 MHz Master Antenna System as well as collocation of DART's network equipment inside TPI's Dallas facility.

TPI was contacted by DART when they determined their existing EDACS communication network required replacement with a new 700/800/900 MHZ system. Vicki Clark, CFO for TPI stated 'for more than 18 years DART has depended on TPI's Master Antenna System and our mission critical facilities that include TPI's ongoing site management solution for its critical communications needs.' Mr. Chiles added that 'DART's first-responder communications network is a vital public safety matter so our previous 18 years serving DART was the important factor in sealing the deal.'
A sub-set of master antenna solutions—called 'Distributed Antenna Systems' (DAS) including 'Site Management Technology' is in constant development by telecommunications vendors, however the management and operation of such projects requires more than conventional vendor contracting. Since 1985, Telecommunication Properties, Inc. 'TPI' has performed countless similar installations including site management solutions for federal law enforcement agencies, broadcasters and telecommunication carriers. Mr. Chiles said 'we have demonstrated that our on-staff and on-site capability won the DART contract and we are honored to accept the new responsibility.'

TPI will help sort out and select sub-contractors and oversee all related technology providers for the DART installation that will be located inside TPI's Dallas facility. TPI manages infrastructural telecommunications sites in Chicago, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Houston, Denver and New York City.

Telenor launches new store concept in Norway

Fornebu - Norway's first two Telenor stores open in Sandvika and Storo today. The stores will provide ordinary people with a better understanding of how communication technology can make life easier.

"The idea behind the stores is to help people exploit the potential inherent in the products and services Telenor provides. The opportunities provided by telecommunications are currently so vast that many people are having trouble keeping up with them. We will demonstrate just how simple it can be," says Svein Henning Kirkeng, Private Markets Manager at Telenor in Norway.

In the Telenor stores in Norway people will be shown the possibilities that new technology can offer them in a simple and user-friendly way. This applies not only to mobile phones but also PCs, the Internet and fixed line telephony. In time, even TV services - on almost everything to do with screens - will become part of the Telenor store concept.

Best at service
The staff at the Telenor stores will go the extra mile to provide service, and people will feel that they are being taken care of.

"A great deal of the technology available at present is new and unfamiliar to many, and we know how frustrating it can be not to get the help you need and expect. This is the reason why service and competence are the most important cornerstones of the new Telenor stores. The customer must feel secure in the knowledge that complex home solutions will work optimally once they get home. We will care about the customer, even after the sale has been completed," says Kirkeng.

Family-friendly
The stores will be among the most modern in Norway, and will have a 52-inch screen where customers can navigate their way inside a virtual home and learn more about the possibilities available for their homes in the form of Telenor products.

"We plan to establish a chain of stores in towns and urban areas. We will lead everyone safely into our world of solutions. This is why the stores are equipped with simple and entertaining guides to solutions that can create a smoother day," says Kirkeng.

The stores have a separate area for kids which makes them well-suited to families. The kids can play around with technology while the parents get to know the store.

20 stores in the course of 2012
Two stores will open today, one in Sandvika Storsenter in Bærum and one in Storo Storsenter in Oslo. This marks the start of building a chain of Telenor stores in Norway, hopefully Telenor has established 20 stores in the course of 2012.

The Telenor stores in Norway will be franchised. Kjedehuset AS has been selected as the operating partner; they currently also run Telekiosken, Mobildata and Nordialog based on the same model.

Intel to Acquire Infineon’s Wireless Solutions Business

Joint news release by Intel and Infineon Technologies

NEWS HIGHLIGHTS

* Intel to purchase Infineon's Wireless Solutions Business, called WLS, in a cash transaction valued at approximately US Dollar 1.4 billion. The deal is expected to close in the first quarter of 2011.
* WLS sale is a strategic decision for Infineon to expand leading position in markets for automotive, industry and security technologies.
* WLS will operate as a standalone business. Intel is committed to serving WLS' existing customers, including support for ARM-based platforms.
* The acquisition expands Intel's current WiFi and 4G WiMAX offerings to include Infineon's 3G capabilities and supports Intel's plans to accelerate LTE. The acquired technology will be used in Intel® Core™ processor-based laptops, and myriad of Intel® Atom™ processor-based devices, including smartphones, netbooks, tablets and embedded computers.
* The deal aligns with Internet connectivity pillar of Intel's computing strategy.

Neubiberg, Germany and Santa Clara, Calif. - Infineon Technologies AG and Intel Corporation have entered into a definitive agreement to transfer Infineon's Wireless Solutions (WLS) business to Intel in a cash transaction valued at approximately US Dollar 1.4 billion.

WLS, a leading provider of cellular platforms to top tier global phone makers, will operate as a standalone business serving its existing customers. WLS will also contribute to Intel's strategy to make connected computing ubiquitous from smartphones to laptops to embedded computing.

'The global demand for wireless solutions continues to grow at an extraordinary rate,' said Paul Otellini, Intel president and CEO. 'The acquisition of Infineon's WLS business strengthens the second pillar of our computing strategy - Internet connectivity - and enables us to offer a portfolio of products that covers the full range of wireless options from WiFi and 3G to WiMAX and LTE. As more devices compute and connect to the Internet, we are committed to making certain that Intel is well positioned to take advantage of the growth potential in every computing segment, from laptops to handhelds.'

'The sale of WLS is a strategic decision to enhance Infineon's value. We can now fully concentrate our resources towards strong growth in our core segments Automotive (ATV), Industrial & Multimarket (IMM) and Chip Card & Security (CCS). This creates a great perspective for all Infineon customers, employees and shareholders,' said Peter Bauer, CEO of Infineon Technologies AG. 'We all stand to benefit enormously from this deal. Thanks to the outstanding effort of the employees and the management during the last years, WLS is excellently positioned to grow further with the new owner who is ideally suited for this business.'

The WLS transaction is a strategic decision for Intel and Infineon. WLS complements Intel's existing assets and enables growth in mobile computing, smartphones and embedded computing. Infineon will benefit from this by stronger addressing three central challenges to modern society – energy efficiency, mobility and security.

Intel's goal is to expand its mobile and embedded product offerings to support additional customers and market segments, including smartphones, tablets, netbooks, notebooks and embedded computing devices. Through this effort, Intel will pair WLS' best-in-class cellular technology with its core strengths to enable the delivery of low-power, Intel-based platforms that combine its applications processor with an expanded portfolio of wireless options – bringing together Intel's leadership in WiFi and WiMAX with WLS' leadership in 2G and 3G, and a combined path to accelerate 4G LTE.

Intel expects WLS to continue growing, and remaining a standalone business to ensure continuity of existing customer sales, projects and support. The business will continue to support its customers with the best solutions possible, including ARM-based products as well as Intel-based application processor platforms with leading-edge 3G slim modem solutions.

WLS today holds leading positions in the field of wireless mobility and cellular platforms for smart phones and ultra-low-cost, entry phones. WLS provides baseband processors, radio-frequency transceivers, power management integrated circuits (ICs), additional connectivity features, single-chip solutions as well as the corresponding system software. This helps to enable the smooth transmission of voice and high-speed data from the backbone of the telecommunication network to the end user's device. With annual revenue of Euro 917 million, WLS was approximately 30 percent of Infineon's total annual revenue of Euro 3.03 billion in the past financial year.

The board of directors of Intel and the supervisory board and the management board of Infineon have approved the transaction. It is expected to close in the first quarter of 2011, subject to certain regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions specified in the definitive agreement.

*** Network sharing is particularly relevant to reduce carbon footprint. Passive site sharing involves different operators using site ancillary equipment such as battery back-up and cooling. However, it is estimated that active sharing of sites, in which operators use the same radio equipment, can reduce the number of elements in the network by 40% for the same coverage, thus using close to 40% less energy.

Nokia Siemens Networks has over 265 managed services contracts worldwide, including 60 3G services contracts, supporting 380 million subscribers globally. And, with more than 175 3G customer references and serving more than half the number of 3G subscribers globally, Nokia Siemens Networks is the leading enabler of 3G services.

Verizon Earns Another ISO/IEC 20000-1 Certification

Company's Network Center Supporting Government Customers Earns Prestigious Distinction

BASKING RIDGE, N.J. - Verizon has earned certification as ISO/IEC 20000-1-compliant for its Government Enterprise Network Operations Center, located in Cary, N.C. The GENOC, launched in 1997, provides managed services for local, state and federal government customers.

ISO/IEC 20000-1, the first international standard specifically aimed at IT service management, provides an independent, internationally recognized means of benchmarking the delivery of IT services and a framework to define the features and processes that enable high-quality systems.

ISO certification supports the GENOC's ability to measure and deliver service quality while aligning with internal requirements such as system consistency, interoperability and error-reduction. ISO certification also includes internationally recognized third-party assessments and audits.

"Because Verizon is one of the largest providers of communications services to government entities at all levels, ISO certification plays an integral role in our business strategy," said Maureen Davis, vice president of global service assurance at Verizon. "Earning ISO certification for our Government Enterprise Network Operating Center means our government customers benefit from the focus on efficiency and effectiveness that standardization provides."

ISO/IEC 20000-1 certification is valid for three years, with audits performed every year by a third party. UL DQS, one of the world's leading certification organizations, will perform these audits for Verizon.

"UL DQS is proud to partner with Verizon's GENOC for ISO/IEC 20000-1 certification," said Ganesh Rao, president and CEO of UL DQS. "Their commitment to quality and continuous improvement is intrinsic throughout the organization. Verizon continues to lead the telecommunications industry by challenging themselves to sustain new growth by developing innovative methods of performance improvement."

The GENOC performs real-time monitoring of network traffic for government customers and serves as a single point of contact for both network and security operations. Diverse cable routing and complete network redundancy are built into the operation of the center to help maintain uninterrupted communications for government customers.

Verizon has a global quality-management system, built upon ISO 9001:2008 standards that provide guidelines for establishing and implementing quality policies for the company. The company has more than 55 different ISO-certified internal organizations, including those compliant with ISO-IEC 20000-1:2005 and ISO/IEC 27001:2005.

In 2008, Verizon was the first U.S. telecommunications company to receive ISO 20000-1 certification for its Government Network Operations and Security Center, located in Ashburn, Va.
